How We Rate Casinos
Every site on GambleDude is independently tested and scored across 8 criteria. No casino pays for placement - rankings are earned.
Our Rating Methodology
GambleDude was founded in 2018 with one goal: give gamblers an honest, unsponsored shortcut to the best sites on the internet. Every casino we review is tested by a real person using a real account - deposits made, bonuses claimed, withdrawals processed. We don't rely on press releases or marketing materials.
Each casino receives a score out of 10 based on the eight criteria below. We weight licensing and payout reliability most heavily because no bonus or game library matters if your money isn't safe.
Licensing & Security
We only list casinos with a valid licence from a recognised authority: the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC), the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority, or Curaçao. We verify licence numbers directly on regulator websites - we never take a casino's word for it.
Game Selection
We count the number of slots, table games, live dealer tables, and specialty games. We check that leading software providers (NetEnt, Evolution, Pragmatic Play, Microgaming) are represented and test loading times across devices.
Bonus Value & Fairness
Headline bonus amounts are meaningless without reading the full terms. We calculate real bonus value by factoring in wagering requirements, eligible games, contribution rates, minimum deposit, time limits, and maximum cashout. A 100% match with 40× wagering is worse than a 50% match with 20×.
Payout Speed & Limits
We test withdrawal processing time from request to funds received. We also check maximum daily and monthly limits - a casino offering £10,000/month is meaningfully different from one capped at £2,000. Slow or refused withdrawals are the fastest route to a low score.
Mobile Experience
Tested on real iOS and Android devices - not just desktop browser emulation. We assess game availability (not all desktop games are available on mobile), touch responsiveness, app stability, and whether the full account management suite is accessible on a phone.
Customer Support
We contact support on each casino as an ordinary player. We measure first response time, quality of answer, and whether live chat is available 24/7. A casino that ignores support tickets loses points - fast, helpful support is non-negotiable at this level of competition.
Payment Methods
We check the range of deposit and withdrawal options: cards, e-wallets, bank transfer, and crypto. We note whether the same method can be used for both deposit and withdrawal, and flag any fees or minimum thresholds that affect real players.
Responsible Gambling Tools
Every listed casino must offer deposit limits, session time limits, self-exclusion, and a link to external support organisations. Casinos that make it difficult to self-exclude or set limits score significantly lower - regardless of their bonus or game selection.
What Disqualifies a Casino
No matter the score on the above criteria, a casino is immediately excluded from GambleDude if it appears on our Rogue List - which tracks confirmed payment refusals, fraudulent bonus terms, or regulatory sanctions. A casino can also be excluded if it targets self-excluded players or minors.
Affiliate Disclosure
GambleDude earns a commission when visitors sign up to a casino through our links. This commission structure does not affect scores - a casino that pays a higher commission does not receive a higher rating. We have declined commercial arrangements with casinos we believe would score below 7.0. Read our full Affiliate Disclosure.
How Often We Update Reviews
Reviews are updated whenever a casino materially changes its terms, changes ownership, receives a regulatory action, or when our re-test produces a meaningfully different result. The date displayed on each review reflects the last full re-test. If you spot something out of date, contact us.
